The Galaxy Mega Plus attempts to bring the giant phablet to the
current age, but only barely. In this rehash, Samsung replaces the
processor with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. Rather unfortunately, it
seems that the rest of the specs are all the same. You still have the
5.8-inch screen with the rather low 540x960 resolution and TFT
technology, the same 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.9 megapixel
front-facing camera, and the same battery capacity. No word on RAM but,
considering the rest of the specs, we wouldn't be surprised if it
remained the same. No word on Android version either but it wouldn't be
too much of a loss if it kept the same Android 4.2 as the original.
One other major change in the Galaxy Mega Plus is the addition of
dual SIM support, which is perfect for the Chinese market where the
smartphone is currently available. No word on whether Samsung has any
plans on making it available outside, but there are probably very few
who will hold their breath for it.
